Uncomfortable Conversations in Implementation Science and Global Health

Nadia Sam-Agudu, MD, CTropMed is a pediatric infectious diseases clinical-scientist and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota Medical School. She is also the Director of UMN's Global Pediatrics Program and the Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Medical Students. In addition, she holds affiliations with the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria and the University of Cape Coast in Ghana.
Dr. Sam Agudu's research interest is in the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases among children in African countries. Her research portfolio includes HIV, TB, malaria, COVID-19 and mpox. She leads the Central and West Africa Implementation Science Alliance and has developed curricula and trained African implementers, scientists and policymakers in the use of implementation science in their local contexts. She serves on WHO Guideline Development and Technical Working Groups focused on pediatric and adolescent HIV; mpox; and mass drug administration of azithromycin for child survival.
